Licenses for free image use
When we create a new web project, we need images to make it more attractive. On many occasions, we have to opt for existing resources, but we must be careful with the rights and licenses of the images.
What types of free-use licenses exist?
Both on social networks and websites, we constantly need images to create new content and thus attract more audience. Before downloading any image, we must know that there is an author and usage rights behind it.
When someone uploads a photo, it has authorship and exploitation rights. In this way, they become the author of the photograph. There are different icons that specify what rights are in a photograph and how we should act if we use it.
The types of licenses that exist are:
- Licencia CC BY: we must specify the author of the image.
- Licencia CC BY SA: we must specify the author of the image and if we create a new image from this one, it must have the same rights.
- Licencia CC BY ND: we must specify the author of the image and we cannot modify it.
- Licencia CC BY NC: we must specify the author of the image and we cannot benefit economically from it.
- Licencia CC BY NC SA: debemos especificar el autor de la imagen, no podemos beneficiarnos económicamente de ésta y la nueva obra debe tener la misma licencia.
Licencia CC BY NC ND: debemos especificar el autor de la imagen, no podemos beneficiarnos económicamente de ésta y no se puede modificar.
