Azure VMware Solution makes Azure the best public cloud for VMware loads

Today, both end users and clients demand the high availability and performance that cloud-based applications can offer. This challenge is added to the increased infrastructure and security requirements. All of this tests increasingly limited budgets, faced with the need for greater investment in hardware and software, as well as IT staff.

This is one of the main conclusions of the study carried out by the independent consulting firm Forrester, commissioned by Microsoft, on the Total Economic Impact resulting from the adoption of Azure VMware Solution. The study showed that with AVS, a large corporation with twelve Azure VMware solutions nodes and fifteen IT system administrators on their workforce, within three years they can achieve a projected return on investment (ROI) of 125% to 274%, a projected net present value (NPV) from $3.28M to $7.22M, savings on the staff costs necessary for maintaining the local infrastructure of around $400,000, and cost savings valued at around $2 million as they avoid excess provisioning, updating and decommissioned infrastructure expenses.

In this way, Azure VMware Solution democratizes and speeds up the path to the cloud, allowing organisations to maintain their investments in VMware and the user experience they are used to, without needing to readjust or interrupt business critical workloads. At the same time, it takes advantage of the benefits of the cloud, such as elasticity, greater availability of workloads, savings on infrastructure costs such as the aforementioned, staff productivity savings and greater performance.

Azure VMware Solution combines VMware's software-defined data centre software (SDDC) with Microsoft's global Azure cloud services ecosystem. In addition, Azure VMware Solution meets the performance, availability, security and regulatory compliance requirements that any organisation could demand. Briefly, the main advantages are:
