We collected 52 kilos of rubbish on Pinedo beach, in Valencia
At SEIDOR we are committed to environmental management, which is why we joined the United Nations Global Compact in 2014. An initiative that is helping us to promote activities and initiatives aimed at improving our way of relating and adding value to society by developing our activity in a sustainable way.
The company works every day to raise awareness and minimize our impact on the environment. One of the activities that we have launched has been the collection of waste on Pinedo beach, in Valencia.
The initiative, which was launched with the aim of raising awareness and taking care of the environment, was carried out by our SEIDOR colleagues in Valencia in collaboration with the Red Cross and consisted of getting together in pairs and collecting all types of waste of less than 30 cm, that is, all the waste that cleaning machines cannot remove.
In just over an hour, a total of 52 kilograms of rubbish was collected and subsequently analysed. The main waste found was cigarettes, bottle tops, cans or cotton buds.
Once the activity was completed, the Red Cross sent this waste to the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge with competence in energy, the environment and the demographic challenge to analyse the impact of pollution on Spanish coasts and monitor domestic and industrial waste found on beaches.
The initiative, which was a real success in terms of participation, allows us to continue building a more human and sustainable future.
